STS A Word on Earnings A Word on Earnings

Every student is entitled to a tax free personal allowance.

This means that if your income is less than a certain amount set by the government each tax year then no tax is due.

Quite often students end up paying too much tax as they tend to earn less than this amount.

Earnings do not include grants, loans and scholarships and some state benefits.

For most students, it will include money received from an employer.

If you are unsure then contact us with your query.
